Re: Tax Evasion
I havnt had work done in my house that wasn't cash in hand, I'm sick to death of being out drinking with people who bleat about city this bankers that when they are doing all their building work for cash so the govt lose out on vat on the job and also the tax on earnings, I'd like to know how much this costs the country as I worked in the city all my life and we paid tax on every penny we earned

"The tax laws are written by those with money so it's no surprise it favours them"

Ah, I see. People of power write our laws.

How very insightful.

His dad's firm did something wrong. I am not a big fan of Cameron's, but I'd struggle to condemn a man because of the tax practices of a company his dad used to work for.

Re: Tax Evasion
let's get one thing straight:

Tax Evasion = illegal

Tax Avoidance = legal (morally questionable, arguably)

This big "leak" is about the latter. The tax laws are written by those with money so it's no surprise it favours them. There's nothing really to be done about it, unless you can vote a coalition into power that will write new tax laws. good luck with that.

This COULD be a really big story. Or they'll all brush it off and just get on with their alternative world. I'm keen to see how it pans out.

Re: Tax Evasion
i did have a look on here earlier, and it was strangely quiet about this sordid affair. a little mention by Infidel on the EU thread.

Cameron senior's firm didn't pay UK tax for 30 years
